Ella
Ella is Eliot's best friend, and she keeps things lively. That is the description. She has no separate speech in the greeting, and she does not deliver the three rules. Those stay in Eliot's voice. Her role is friend, and her place is the park, alongside Eliot and Tolie rather than the farm or the vegetable patch.
The portrait is one picture of Eliot and Ella together. Ella uses that picture. Eliot uses the same picture. The cast list shows it once, with Eliot. The photograph is the same for both of them. The rules and the first stop belong to Eliot.
Nothing sends Ella to the information booth, and she is not the plush from Terry's Vegetable Patch. Rory talks to people who are lost. Farmer Terry helps children find their way home. Ella's job is the friendship with Eliot and keeping the visit lively. She stays in the park with the two of them, not at the farm and not in the vegetable patch. The eight-chapter walk and the ten-chapter count do not single her out, and neither count gives her a chapter title. Her face is the shared portrait with Eliot, the warm and friendly cat. Unauthorized Eliot and Ella episodes come with one instruction: do not share them. That warning does not retell the episodes, so it is not a plot for her, and it does not put words in her mouth.
